  Elyssa Parton
o pening Pacific Rim Home fulfilled a lifelong dream for Elyssa Parton, who has “always loved interacting with

customers, and being able to create an environment of beautiful art, fabulous accent pieces and wonderfully made upholstered furniture. With 30 years of retail experience and a lineage of determined, artistic relatives, Elyssa takes to the specialty home decor industry quite naturally.

The Los Angeles native inherited her work ethic and keen mind for retail from her grandparents, Russian immigrants who entered the U.S. in the early 1900s and eventually opened a furniture store in San Diego. Elyssa attributes her “flair for the dramatic” to her father, Maurice Richlin, author of The Pink Panther, Pillow Talk, Operation Petticoat, and Come September. “Spending the early years of my life on movie sets surrounded by the glamour and romance of Hollywood definitely had an impact on my life,” she remembers.

Elyssa began her career in the fashion industry which “goes hand in hand” with home design “because after all, you want to look good sitting on your sofa!” she insists. “When I design a client’s home I definitely take into consideration the colors that they look good wearing.” She lived and worked in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and Las Vegas before moving to the Westlake Village area 16 years ago.

Pacific Rim home specializes in Asian antiques, imported directly from China. “Asian accessories and furniture have a very romantic, seductive quality,” she explains, noting that the color red is generally associated with romance, and is also frequently used in Asian furnishings. “When you add Asian to your home, you bring a sophistication that you don’t achieve with anything else.”  Most of Elyssa’s pieces hail from the Qing dynasty and, as she explains, “infuse the home with positive energy, harmony and serenity. In fact, customers often leave the Westlake Village showroom feeling calmer and more peaceful than when they first strolled through the front door.”
